“The bar of the thirsty artist.” This well known café/bar remains a favored meeting place for art students of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts located in the historic district of St. Germain des Pres. Here on the banks of the Seine artists have gathered for centuries to enjoy cuisine and the ambiance of gas lamps and shimmering water. A stroll in this neighborhood reveals other famous bars, including Le Palette, Le Balto, Le Flore, and Les Deux Magots.

The famous “Le Restaurant Paul” on the Place Dauphine. The door to the right of the restaurant belongs to the apartment where two of the restaurant’s regular patrons, French actors Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, lived.
