the orient express (1994)
This unique collection of original paintings commemorates a 1994 journey the great French master of contemporary impressionism, Guy Buffet, made on the legendary Venice-Simplon Orient Express, the world's most celebrated train.
This is a suite of ten original acrylics on canvas — four large paintings (three 22" h × 30" w and one 24" h × 30" w) and six smaller pieces (8" w × 10" h) — depicting the Orient Express and its staff. The record of a moment in time, deserving of a place of honor in a chateau, a mansion, or an executive office suite.
(Valued at $162,000 [all ten pieces, inclusive])
